The Dark Iron Brotherhood

Dark Iron Brotherhood

For centuries, duergar crafters have made arms and armor. By the guidance of the Dark Smith, and the defense of the duergar people, crafters have had an unspoken brotherhood and comradery… until now.

Goal: The Iron Ritual

Often crafters spend all of their time making items for the benefit of others. Much to their disdain, they are left behind while the people wielding their items get all the glory.

In response, the members of the Dark Iron Brotherhood have mastered the Iron Ritual. The ritual, inspired by the Dark Smith, and perfected by crafters, takes on a living iron persona – embodying the very material they have spent their lives using as a crafting material.

Alignment: LN

Because of the strict dedication to the arts of arms and armor, a strict code of honor must be followed. Adherence to law and order, principle, and disregard of good and evil, is vital to the future of the brotherhood.

Leader

The current leaders are the two founders, the twin brothers Brokkr Ironhand and Eitri Stonetrap.

Good Class Choices

Cleric, Fighter, Magus, Monk, Wizard

Challenging Class Choices

Headquarters

The current headquarters is in their hometown of Hagegraf, Nar-Voth within the Darklands. There is a strong presence in Vlamkamer, Nar-Voth, which is the newly created settlement of Flamescale kobolds.

Joining

The order only accepts those willing to set aside—at least temporarily—their differences and dedication to good and evil. Only those with ranks of Craft and Profession, and at least one Item Creation feat.

Gaining Prestige

A character who remains true to the goals of the faction gains 1 PA every time he gains a rank in Craft or Profession and takes an Item Creation Feat.

While the brotherhood is a tight-knit circle of craftsmen, their influence is throughout Nar-Voth. All duergar settlements have members of the brotherhood.
